GenieDB Enterprise 2.0 Multi-Regional Self-Healing MySQL Unveiled

GenieDB, a specialist in providing distributed relational database technology, has unveiled its GenieDB Enterprise 2.0, a new version of its multiregional self-healing MySQL.

The solutions from the company will help enterprises globally scale their existing MySQL applications economically, and without abandoning traditional database architecture.

GenieDB 2.0 transforms MySQL into a highly available, resilient and multi-datacenter platform, specifically designed for highly distributed, failure-prone cloud environments.”

According to the company, this new version is compatible with MySQL, providing a cloud-enabled, ultra-available, distributed database platform to enterprises.

The solution can also support any MySQL application, and there is no need for a new database. GenieDB’s global distribution capabilities and MySQL plug-in architecture will ensure that the MySQL applications will always be working even if any cloud is not functioning.

GenieDB Enterprise 2.0 delivers optimum performance and compatibility with MySQL 5.6. This version also allows easy distribution for applications built with MySQL 5.6 across multiple geographies, and is now available for private preview with general availability planned for later this year.

Company officials noted that the simplification of the migration process for enterprises into cloud-based infrastructures is enabled by GenieDB’s global scalability. GenieDB streamlines the way in which data is processed across global networks and clouds, helping deliver readily accessible, local database performance on a global scale.

GenieDB recently announced the expanded availability of its product on the Rackspace Cloud Tools Marketplace. The company will be delivering the first ever multi-region distribution of MySQL for high availability in the cloud.
