By NatheshHPC Solutions, an information technology company, and NexGen Storage, a shared storage system, forged a partnership to deliver an improved and unique storage solution to customers.
HPC Solutions, which recently acquired a BPA (GS-26F-AA010 Strategic Sourcing Agreement) from the GSA (News - Alert) for Storage and Servers, acknowledged that NexGen Storage makes storage woes a thing of the past with its PCIe SSD storage system with Quality of Service (QoS), the first storage offering designed from the ground up to manage performance just like capacity.
Linda Shugart, CEO at HPC Solutions stated, “We are excited to work with NexGen to offer our clients in federal, state and local governments, new innovative technology that addresses challenges in storage not available previously. In addition to the strength of its storage QoS capabilities, NexGen Storage brings unique value to the market with an innovative tiering architecture that delivers high performance and affordable capacity. NexGen enables customers to move data in real-time between high-performing solid-state drives and economical capacity disk drives.”
NextGen (News - Alert) claimed that unlike conventional shared storage, it lets customers provision and ensure predictable performance so they can virtualize business critical applications with confidence. Its PCIe solid-state architecture avoids performance bottlenecks to offer the best price/performance ratio of any midrange storage solution.
Some of the advantages of the storage solution from the partnership are: five times lower $/GB than disk drives; 10 times lower $/IOP than solid-state disk drives; 75 times higher VM storage density; 90 percent operating expense savings against disk drives; and more.
Mike Koponen, director of business development at NextGen added, “HPC’s recent BPA award has enabled us to work with them on an exciting project with a notable Denver area customer. NexGen’s ability to provide consistent application performance and offer the lowest combined $/GB and $/IOP combines to provide a powerful midrange storage solution.”
