Villanova University Offers Guidelines on Lowering Risks in IT Project Management

A new article recently published in the new spring catalogue from Villanova University offers insight into the risks associated with IT projects and provides mangers with guidelines on how these risks can be lowered by faster identification and prioritization. The article titled "Managing IT Project Risk" deals with three specific issues namely – importance of identifying and prioritizing risks; common risks associated with IT projects; and guidelines on identifying project risks.

In a statement, Wayne R. Brantley, Managing Director of Professional Education Online and a member of the University's online project management faculty, said that, "When it comes to considering project management jobs, it would be hard to find a more dynamic and in-demand field. Students can feel confident that Villanova's programs and expert faculty will always stay abreast of the changing industry standards found in the latest PMBOK Guide."

The new spring catalogue from Villanova University now includes a number of project management course offerings designed to help professionals in their online PMP certification preparation and can help them develop and further their project management career.

Certification Programs available for Management of IT Project Risks within the spring catalogue include :

  • Updated Master Certificate in IS/IT Project Management & Master Certificate in Applied Project Management: the university is the first to offer new Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK Guide)- Fifth Edition from the Project Management Institute (PMI) within its online project management programs.
  • The updated courses available provide project managers with the necessary leverage in mastering the revised industry standards which will be a part of the Project Management Professional (PMP) and Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification exams starting early Summer 2013.
  • Advanced Master Certificate in IS/IT Project Management & Advanced Master Certificate in Applied Project Management: available as online programs, both these programs are the perfect supplement to either the Master Certificate in Project Management, PMP or CAPM certification.  Experienced professionals who opt for these courses will be able to develop important PM skills, and also earn important PDUs (Professional Development Units) to maintain PMP certification.
