Data center infrastructure solution provider FiberMedia launched its Accelerate Partner Program in January 2013 after a successful run with its Project Velocity program last fall, an incentive program developed for the agent community to promote FiberMedia’s data centers and managed services.
The Accelerate Partner Program is a channel neutral program that is designed to deliver benefits, eliminate bureaucratic obstacles and maximize revenue growth. I recently spoke with John Panzica, senior VP of sales and marketing of FiberMedia about the program, what makes it an appealing choice for partners and what we can look forward to seeing in the future from the company.
FiberMedia owns and operates a network of six data centers that comprise approximately 105,000 square feet of space, five of which are strategically located in the New York metropolitan region. The company’s suite of managed IT services includes device management, monitoring, storage, backup and cloud infrastructure as a service (IaaS).
What sets FiberMedia apart in the industry is its ability to offer physical and virtual solutions on a single contract. It offers customized solutions and flex power offerings, which are based on power consumption over any given month. These factors lead to another differentiating quality FiberMedia offers, which is price performance. If you’re looking for flexibility, customization and getting the most out of your budget for your IT needs, FiberMedia is your answer.
FiberMedia is a regionalized company and its reach isn’t as broad as it would like it to be. That’s what sparked the launch of the Velocity Program last fall.
“We needed to broaden our distribution into different geographies and sectors of the market that direct sales wasn’t calling on,” Panzica explained. “We got some great success out of it – it was like lightning in a bottle for us. The program did so well we decided to make an initial investment and put together a formal channel program.”
Now, Accelerate is managed by a dedicated channel partner team and offers monthly recurring residual commissions. Its committed to support both the agent and reseller community, such as the FiberMedia sales force, engineering staff and design and build operations, so partners have available resources to speak with clients, give them tours, create solutions and effectively help them prospect and close opportunity.
Right out of the gate, Accelerate has four new partners. COLOpeople, Converged Network Services Group (CNSG), Global Communications Group (GCG) and Teleproviders all joined the program earlier in February, providing FiberMedia with the chance to expand its reach into new markets.
Panzica explains the company has been successful at fulfilling its existing foot print of six data centers over the past few years, and it is now focusing on expanding that footprint into other geographies.
