Verimatrix has unveiled ViewRight Gateway (News - Alert), extending the Verimatrix Video Content Authority and VCAS architecture, which will now be optionally accessible in the prize-winning ViewRight ONE multi-network client security portfolio.
The format transformation process for both incoming linear content streams and for local resources recorded on a DVR can now be administered by ViewRight Gateway in a proficient and protected manner. Apart from broadening the operators' profit protection rule for home networking models, ViewRight Gateway optimizes the quality of experience of QoE for subscribers.
Steve Oetegenn, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, Verimatrix (News - Alert) said in a statement that, "Multi-network, multi-screen video services are playing an increasingly vital role in successful pay-TV operators' service portfolios. We've enhanced our ViewRight ONE framework with ViewRight Gateway to provide additional home networking options with robust, unified rights management capabilities. This is all with the goal of offering a range of solutions that can serve as the foundation of a compelling service value proposition."
A group of functions facilitating protected translation between incoming content streams from a supervised video delivery network and equivalent stream formats are included by ViewRight Gateway. In order to assist redistribution of protected media inside the home to several consumer devices, DTCP-IP and improved HTTP live streaming security are supported by ViewRight Gateway. IPTV (News - Alert) content streams protected by VCAS for IPTV, along with RF broadcast streams protected by VCAS for DVB are compatible with ViewRight Gateway.
Verimatrix has developed ViewRight Gateway in association with home networking specialist associates like ACCESS.
Joerg Eggink, Product Director of Connected Home, ACCESS said, "Maximizing the monetization of content across a multi-network, multi-screen delivery environment is not without challenges, including those associated with home media sharing. We are pleased to work with Verimatrix in developing a studio confident solution. ViewRight Gateway is of tremendous value to any operator wanting to enhance revenue security and increase subscriber QoE. In addition, the solution is interoperable with a large amount of CE devices, which will help the operator reach more screens and also reduce the volume of customer support calls."
Verimatrix will showcase ViewRight Gateway at TV Connect 2013, scheduled from 19-21 March in London. Verimatrix will be present at booth #173.
