Prolexic, a company that provides Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) protection services, recently announced that the company will provide DDoS detection and DDoS protection services to Seek.com.au, Australia's employment website. Seek.com.au, which recently suffered a Layer 7 (application layer) distributed denial of service attack, is presently trying to work out a DDoS mitigation plan or playbook of defensive actions to be taken as soon as a DDoS attack is detected.
"Prolexic is a specialist in DDoS mitigation and that's all they do," said Andre Bertrand, security services manager at SEEK. "DDoS mitigation is only an add-on service with ISPs and other providers. It all comes down to how much experience the provider has in DDoS, which is a very specialized business. We wanted only the best protection and we feel that Prolexic is clearly the best DDoS mitigation provider in the industry."
The solutions from Prolexi are able to absorb the largest and most complex attacks ever launched. Prolexic restores mission-critical Internet-facing infrastructures for global enterprises and government agencies within minutes. Ten of the world's largest banks and leading companies in e-Commerce, SaaS (News - Alert), payment processing, travel/hospitality, gaming and other at-risk industries rely on Prolexic to protect their businesses.
"Being prepared is the best defense against DDoS attacks and SEEK has taken a proactive step by putting Prolexic on the front lines of its mitigation strategy," said Stu Scholly, president of Prolexic. "Prolexic advises all businesses to make cyberattack defense a part of their incident response plan to eliminate panic and ensure a calm and controlled response to a DDoS attack.""Prolexic's efforts in testing our mitigation strategy, keeping up-to-date with the playbook, and providing DDoS intelligence on a regular basis has been refreshing compared to other DDoS mitigation vendors," continued Bertrand.
