By Calvin AzuriBuckley Jolley Real Estate recently announced that it is using the managed cloud service from Online Tech to address its IT needs. Michigan's largest managed data center, Online Tech specializes in providing secure, compliant hosting services which include cloud hosting, managed dedicated servers, Michigan colocation and disaster recovery.
In a statement, owner Karen Jolley said that, "I did not realize what Chris was doing with our IT, I just knew he was taking care of it and if there was a problem he was on it. But when he told me right before he left how much backing up he did… I was very grateful for that, but realized if we had to do that going forward, I just didn't think it would get done. For business owners that are in my age group, especially a small business, this is something that we just don't know enough about, couldn't learn, and wouldn't have time to deal with."
Owners Todd Buckley and Karen Jolley were essentially dependent on Chris Jolley, Karen’s son, to manage the business server and to take care of disaster recovery and security issues whenever he had the time. However, when Chris decided to leave the company, he took advantage of Online Tech's managed cloud service to secure the company with 100 percent uptime, 24x7 monitoring, and offsite backup.
Each night Chris Jolley would back up the Buckley Jolley Real Estate's server to a tape and then once a week he would back that up on to a hard drive, which was then further backed up on to an older server ,which was stashed in the office.
Thanks to the company’s managed cloud service, Michigan Real Estate has effectively secured itself against natural disaster. Online Tech also maintains client data which includes tax returns and Social Security numbers which need to be secure at all times. The company’s managed cloud service is HIPAA, PCI (News - Alert) and SOX audited.
