IGEL and DigitalPersona Integrate Technologies to Enable Secure Access to Virtual Desktops

IGEL Technology recently announced that it is integrating its technology solutions with DigitalPersona to deliver speedy and secure access to customer’s virtual desktops. DigitalPersona is a leading expert in biometric hardware, strong authentication software and developer tools designed to support the management of digital identities. Both companies have integrated their technologies to enable the use of fingerprint biometrics for authentication credentials of virtual applications that are hosted on a Citrix XenApp server.

In a statement, Matthias Haas, product manager at IGEL, said that, "DigitalPersona's fingerprint biometrics solution provides our customers with a highly secure form of authentication. Users are able to roam and access virtual desktops with the touch of their finger."

IGEL Linux along with DigitalPersona Pro Enterprise v5.3 and v5.4 authentication software will now support users' credentials over Citrix XenApp servers for all x86 based IGEL UD2, UD3, UD5, and UD9 devices. DigitalPersona U.are.U 4500 Fingerprint Readers, which are connected via a USB drive to IGEL thin clients, provide professionals with secure authentication anytime they access their virtual desktops regardless of their location.
