NetApp has enhanced the IT capabilities of the beauty manufacturer, Revlon by simplifying and increasing the agility of all business operations.
The NetApp storage foundation has enabled Revlon to make smarter IT decisions that are mission critical for the company’s growth and expansion. Revlon specializes in the manufacture and distribution of various beauty products and cover business operations in over 100 countries across six continents giving rise to huge volumes of data.
NetApp solutions helped Revlon successfully implement a private cloud infrastructure that enhanced its agility and enabled it to adapt to growing consumer demands. Revlon’s huge data storage requirement for 3.6PB, which was also accommodated by NetApp.
David Giambruno, senior vice president and CIO for Revlon said, “IT’s job is to make systems work for people, rather than people working for systems. Leveraging NetApp as our single storage and data management foundation provides a newfound level of agility that impacts every aspect of our business.”
NetApp has enabled an internal cloud infrastructure for Revlon that will store 97 percent of Revlon’s data into information. Revlon IT uses NetApp solutions to maintain business continuity by restoring or moving business processes within its cloud environment during natural disasters. Disaster recovery was ensured during a recent storm by a single employee in less than an hour with no impact to the business.
The advantages experienced by Revlon by using NetApp solutions include the private cloud infrastructure, which runs more than 500 applications in a virtualized environment and supports over 15,000 automated application moves a month.
Data center efficiencies are also ensured for Revlon by NetApp has helped reduce energy costs by 72 percent, said officials.

At present Revlon is testing NetApp Flash Accel, which has ensured high efficiency and performance gains besides eliminating hardware investments and deploying a new global ERP platform on its internal cloud.
