Openet, Procera to help Enhance Network Experience for APAC Mobile Operator

Smartphones are becoming almost addictive with an increasing number of consumers relying on their personal devices for almost everything conceivable. It follows then that mobile services have to keep pace and become equally central to people’s lives. A nightmare for service providers? Not to worry, there’s help round the corner.

Openet (News - Alert), a global provider of real-time transaction management software and services, and Procera are working together worldwide to help operators meet the needs of mobile subscribers, and are currently reported to be helping one of the fastest growing mobile operators in APAC to enhance its network service experience.

With networks going live around the world, mobile operators are investing heavily in LTE (News - Alert) technology in order to capture the latest generation of consumers that want more performance from their mobile broadband connections.

"The shift to LTE provides network operators an opportunity to offer high value personalized services to mobile broadband consumers," said James Brear, CEO of Procera.

While Procera will use its PacketLogic real-time intelligent policy enforcement (IPE) solution to provide the network awareness, analysis and control, Openet will use its policy manager to help service providers make real- time decisions over subscriber access to network resources.

"Our work in Japan with Openet leverages both companies' leading edge technology and scalability to deliver high quality mobile broadband services to their subscribers," added Brear.

If mobile operators want to cope with the rapid pace of change in mobile data usage, they need to gain more insight into the behavior of their networks, and to turn that information into actionable service plans.

And, that’s exactly what Openet and Procera have set out to do. They have made it possible for the operator to optimize mobile data network performance for all subscribers, is enabling powerful, new network management capabilities and differentiated services, control network costs, and experience the greatest data ARPU and subscriber growth in its region.

Procera Networks (News - Alert), Inc. has secured a multi-million dollar initial order from a Tier 1 Middle Eastern converged fixed line and mobile network operator. The operator selected Procera's PacketLogic PL10000 platform for the network deployment throughout its footprint.
