Bsquare Corporation recently included four additional products from McAfee (News - Alert) within its distribution line of embedded security solutions for customers in North America. The company is one of the premier dealers of embedded solutions for creating smart connected systems.
In a statement, Mike Stipe, Senior VP of Worldwide Sales and Marketing for Bsquare, said that, "Bsquare has customers that cross many industries and deliver all types of commercial and consumer devices. As we have seen embedded solutions become more intelligent and more connected, we have also seen an increase in the need for different types of security solutions. By adding these new security products from McAfee, it allows us to provide a more tailored solution for our customers."
Since 2008, Bsquare has been delivering McAfee Embedded Control to customers, helping them in restricting unauthorized changes to devices, and making them less prone to malware infections and attacks.
Designed to eliminate vulnerabilities and prevent attacks, McAfee products improve endpoint, network and data security within the grid.
Embedded devices these days require extensive software support to address both suppliers’ and end users’ needs. And with complex system features and mission-critical applications on the rise, these embedded systems are constantly targeted by hackers and cyber terrorists.
The four new McAfee products included within the Bsquare distribution line include: McAfee Integrity Control, designed to block unauthorized applications and change on fixed-function, point-of-service infrastructures such as in ATMs, point-of-sale (POS) systems and kiosks; and McAfee Application Control, a centrally managed whitelisting solution capable of restricting unauthorized applications and code on servers, corporate desktops and fixed-function devices.
Additional products include the McAfee Endpoint Protection Suite, an integrated solution designed to protect Windows systems against malware and unauthorized devices, while ensuring improved device control and critical e-mail and Web protection; and McAfee VirusScan Enterprise, a combination of anti-virus, anti-spyware, firewall and intrusion prevention technologies, all bought together to control and mitigate the spread of malicious software.
