Blighter Surveillance Systems has set its eyes on systems integrators that are providing sophisticated surveillance solutions to the global defense and commercial security markets.
Building on the sales success of the Blighter electronic-scanning radar system, this company plans to develop and provide an integrated multi-sensor toolkit for systems integrators.
This toolkit will include several components such as the Blighter radars, cameras, thermal imagers and trackers.
Blighter Surveillance Systems was formed due to the growth of the Blighter radar group within Plextek (News - Alert) Limited. The company will now operate as a separate business within the Plextek Group and will run leveraging the expertise of experienced hardware and software engineers, operations management and support staff.
The company realizes the need of its system integrator customers to hire a single supplier that can provide a more tightly coupled multi-sensor solution for large scale, complex border and site security projects.
This kind of solution will provide system integrator customers with cost efficiencies and save them from the risks associated with sensor compatibility issues.
“The newly-formed business will continue to focus on defense, land and water border surveillance, perimeter security and critical infrastructure protection with initial geographic emphasis on the Middle East and North Africa,” said Mark Radford, CEO of Blighter Surveillance Systems. “We see a lot of potential for us in these regions as our multi-sensor solution is effective in all kinds of surveillance applications – and is highly efficient in all terrains and weather conditions.”
Plextek was in news last year for announcing that its Blighter radars have been deployed to enhance Heathrow's perimeter security.
