Actifio Updates Its Products and Services for Easier Deployment

Copy data management company Actifio has revealed changes to its product line and services, including the addition of a pay-per-use utility pricing option, new deployment tools and a bevy of other new features in its latest software release.

Copy data is a by product of the data created by all the business systems that make a copy of everything in production. Actifio cites siloed data protection and availability applications as the root cause of the copy data problem and believes it has created a solution for its customers to recover anything instantly for a total cost of ownership up to 90 percent less than traditional models.

Company Founder and CEO Ash Ashutosh stated that in a world that moves faster than ever, enterprises are facing what he calls an agility imperative.

“Actifio was designed from the start to free businesses from the undue burden of wildly redundant copy data, free IT executives from the complex tangle of data protection and availability applications consuming more and more of their IT budgets, and free IT managers from the stress of unmet SLA’s and recovery time objectives impossible to deliver with 20th century technology,”  Ashutosh added.

In order to make it easier for customers to embrace the Actifio model, Ashutosh officially debuted the company's new 100T product package which is designed for rapid deployment by mid-sized organizations. The new product package features integrated Actifio Optimized Storage and can be combined in a scale-out architecture to support up to two PetaBytes of production data.

The business also unveiled a new utility pricing model, allowing customers to pay an increased ammmount as their data volume grows. The all-inclusive utility pricing is based on a per-terabyte, per-year basis. Version 5.1 of its software was launched recently in addition which includes new capabilities in the areas of data governance, business resilience and service management.
