Foxit Teaming with HM on PDF Application Upgrade

Foxit has long been known as a company that comes up with the best solutions around in regard to revolutionizing the way we use the PDF file. Even when the company isn't coming up with revolutionary ideas and is simply making the programs we currently use much better, it is recognized as one of the best in its field. Now the company will be bringing high resolution imaging to the PDF file thanks to its partnership with still-image and video processing technologies company Human-Monitoring (HM).

HM will be bringing one of its signature solutions, hipix, to the table. This solution is a compression and rich image formatting technology that makes it much easier to create and display still images. The partnership means that when it comes to Foxit's existing PDF programs, the files will be smaller in size and viewed quite a bit faster. The companies said hipix images load at “blazing” speeds, no matter whether you are talking about on the desktop or on a mobile device.

"Bringing together Foxit's advanced viewing, creation and editing PDF capabilities and hipix image technology will allow people to share full, uncompromised, exquisitely detailed images captured by their smart phones and DSLRs without the limitations," said Ira Dvir, co-inventor of the hipix format. "High resolution PDFs will become nimble: easy to transfer and fast to display."

With this partnership, Foxit users will be able to more easily create and enjoy images from magazine, photo albums and brochures as well as retail catalogs that have high resolution images but that have much lower storage requirements than other images that are being used in competing PDF applications.

Foxit seems to believe that a move like this will only strengthen its standing in the surprisingly competitive PDF application market. Just recently, the company made a move to become the go-to company in PDF applications with the release of its newest mobile PDF application for the iOS.

Foxit Mobile PDF for iOS Pro allows users to read and annotate PDF documents on their iPad and iPhone (News - Alert). Foxit Mobile PDF for iOS Pro maintains a similar user experience from the desktop to iOS devices and Android devices, and is created on the same core technology as Foxit Reader.
