Guardtime has been chosen by Philippine Department of Transportation and Communications, or DOTC, for authenticating the reliability and genuineness of digital data. Philippine DOTC in collaboration with Trust Technologies, a local associate of Guardtime, will implement Guardtime’s Link2Cloud offering. This pilot will authenticate the genuineness of physical document in the field in a dependable and rapid manner.
In a statement, Atty. Nick A. Conti, Chief Administrator for Philippine Marine Industry Authority, said "We are responsible for safe seas in the Philippines, and being in control of the personnel on board of our ships is paramount for achieving that. Implementing Link2Cloud solution enables our officials as well as ship administrators to easily verify the authenticity of Seaman's Identification Record Books."
The Keyless Signature technology has been leveraged by the Link2Cloud solution for storing digital images of the physical documents, which are the standards of documents that might have been tampered with, in a cloud infrastructure. These documents can be viewed on connected smartphone devices, allowing officials to compare the standard image and the offered physical documents. The solution, which can be easily implemented in a rapid manner, can be implemented along with any existing IT systems. It is also available with a pay-as-you-go price model, offering instantaneous gains.
The Link2Cloud will be initially implemented at Marine Industry Authority, inside the Philippine DOTC. The Link2Cloud offering will allow the field officers and ship supervisors to authenticate the genuineness of Seaman's Identification Record Books.
Keyless Signature Infrastructure or KSI, deployed by Joyent with the help of its Smart Data Center, is the foundation of the Link2Cloud offering. This offering is promoted by Trust Technologies, a sole KSI distributor in the Philippines.
Guardtime has also revealed collaboration with China Telecom (News - Alert). China Telecom is a major service provider of fixed line telecommunications. China Telecom will act a keyless signature service provider through its Tianyi 3G platform in China as a result of this collaboration.
