Total Defense Announces Cloud-Based Security Offering for Business

Cybercrime solutions provider Total Defense, Inc. has released the Total Defense for Business cloud security solution. The offering combines cloud computing with delivery of multi-layered protection.

Total Defense for Business integrates three critical security technologies to provide a complete cloud-based offering. It features advanced endpoint anti-malware and application controls; Web filtering and malware protection and cloud-based anti-spam and e-mail threat prevention.

Users are also protected regardless of their location or operating system, even when they are outside the corporate network. Policies are applied and enforced consistently at the cloud level, providing a unique level of protection during a time when mobile and remote workers, along with the bring your own device (BYOD) trend, are rapidly growing.

The solution's endpoint and application controls protect Windows, Mac and Linux devices from malware, while securing and controlling applications used by end users to protect against threats from removable media. Cloud-based URL filtering also offers anti-malware security, real-time dynamic content analysis, outbound data leakage prevention, application controls, quota management and policy compliance.

Additional features include cloud-based spam and e-mail threat prevention as well a clean e-mail connection along with security against malware, blended threats, unwanted content and outgoing leakage of sensitive data. The solution is deployable in hours instead of the days or weeks required for traditional, on-premise solutions, and requires no upgrades or maintenance. There are no upfront implementation costs, and Total Defense provides a cloud security network with insight into emerging threats as well as the ability to keep up to speed on changing threats.

"With Total Defense for Business we are changing the security game to address the proliferation of new threats, more mobile endpoints and explosion of web and cloud based applications and data," said Paul Lipman, CEO of Total Defense. "There is nothing on the market like it today, and we are proud of the benefits it will bring our customers."

"Traditional security approaches are no longer adequate in dealing with the proliferation of threats, increasing application vulnerabilities and the rapid adoption of cloud for business applications," said Fran Howarth, senior analyst at Bloor Research. "Total Defense is changing the game by offering a suite of mature technologies that answer those critical needs, including a range of complementary capabilities that are above and beyond those typically seen within this market sector."
