NTT, Geminare Executives Discuss Cloud-Based BC/DR Services

As cloud-based services continue to grow in adoption, rising needs for more efficient and agile services are putting more pressure on data centers. One way to ensure that a business can stay open after suffering a major data loss is by having a proper backup and recovery system in place.

Experts from NTT (News - Alert) and Geminare are discussing the latest cloud-based Recovery-as-a-Service (RaaS) options and ways to ensure your business is able to withstand an unexpected outage that could potentially result in significant data loss and operational outages, which, by IDC’s estimates, costs businesses upwards of $84,000 per hour or downtime.

Nayan Naik, NTT America’s (News - Alert) director of product strategy, joined by business continuity/disaster recovery industry expert Joshua Geist, CEO of Geminare, will discuss cloud-based BC/DR solutions for mission-critical infrastructure when presenting, “Implementing Cloud Recovery for your Environment” at an upcoming event.

Naik and Geist will provide a detailed analysis of the main components required for a RaaS program, how they can be implemented within a complete IT strategy, and how to get started.

In August, NTT expanded its RaaS portfolio with the addition of Cloud Recovery, an enterprise-grade, cloud-based replication solution that meets the strict requirements of enterprises seeking to ensure business continuity for their mission-critical applications in the event of planned or unplanned outages.

Delivered leveraging NTT America’s Enterprise Cloud and partnership with Geminare, NTT America’s Cloud Recovery affords clients across the U.S. the opportunity to seamlessly re-direct end-users from production to replica environments in minutes.

NTT America’s Cloud Recovery protects business operations by replicating all operating systems, applications and data in real-time to a secure environment in NTT America’s Enterprise Cloud. It is a managed cloud service that provides secure, real-time server replication from anywhere in the United States with automatic failover and failback, ensuring data protection and high availability from a secure NTT America Enterprise Cloud platform. Company officials said the service, which leverages NTT America’s vCloud Powered Enterprise Cloud, requires no capital investment and can be deployed within hours.
