Comguard Inks Distribution Agreement with Canada-Based FixMeStick

In an effort to bring the industry’s first ever consumer-ready USB anti-virus device to the Middle East region, Comguard - a Dubai-based value-added distributor for IT security products – signed a distribution agreement with Montreal, Canada-based private company FixMeStick for the FixMeStick PC security device.

In general, FixMeStick is a consumer-ready bootable USB device that can detect as well as remove virus and malware from a computer even when the malware is inactive.

As a bootable USB device, FixMeStick’s FixMeStick is a Linux-based device that runs before Windows boots and facilitates in cleaning the PC. It is integrated with three anti-virus engines, namely Kaspersky, Sophos, and GFI’s VIPRE, behind a single full-screen application.

The multiple anti-virus engines technology in the FixMeStick increases the number of detectable viruses and also cleans external scanning devices, thereby preventing viruses from hiding or interfering with their removal.

Eliminating the need for additional installation, the FixMeStick completely avoids conflict with any of the existing software programs in a system.

The FixMeStick is compatible on any PC with a minimum of 512 MB of RAM (News - Alert). Currently, it is priced at $49.99 for an unlimited number of uses on three PCs per year, and renewals can be purchased for $24.99 annually.

Mohammad Mobasseri, senior VP at Comguard, said in a statement, "FixMeStick is one of the most progressive innovations in IT security domain and yet so simple to use. It is a bootable USB device running on Linux and is powered by three of the world's leading anti-virus engines; Kaspersky Labs, Sophos, and GFI to automatically remove malicious files."

Mohammad added, "We are sure FixMeStick will provide a great relief to both individuals and businesses in the region. While, it will provide an immense opportunity for all our channel partners across the region, who have been looking for a winner product like FixMeStick to expand their market base and make inroads into new business territories."

Through Comguard, FixMeStick is now available across the Middle East region including countries like UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Egypt, Morocco, Jordan, Oman, among others.
