Lyfe Communications Executes Contract to Provide Increased Bandwidth to 17 MDU Properties in Texas, California, and Utah

Lyfe Communications, Inc., a major player in the development of next generation media services integrating TV, high-speed Internet and enhanced voice services, has executed a contract to provide increased bandwidth to 17 Multiple Dwelling Unit (MDU) properties in Texas, California, and Utah.

The new contract allows Lyfe Communications to provide services to thousands of new customers.

Officials with Lyfe Communications said that these contracts will increase the total service capacity, allowing the company to provide Internet, phone, and television services to thousands of new customers at the targeted MDU properties.

According to company officials, the company is tapping into one of the largest IP networks in the country by working with AT&T (News - Alert).

Increased bandwidth and service capacity is expected to be in place within the next 60 days.

"This is the result of months of work with property managers and an extensive bid process with network providers," said Garrett Daw, EVP of operations at Lyfe Communications, in a statement.

"It is a dramatic increase of our service reach in the MDU sector, and provides the flexibility for further expansion on a network with a long operating history and national footprint,” said Daw.

We can focus on these new customer opportunities and look at adding any new properties across multiple markets seamlessly."

Recently, Lyfe Communications, Inc. announced that it has filed a core technology patent for adaptive transport of multimedia.

All television services today require a dedicated network to deliver the signal. Operators must build and operate two separate networks and back ends: one for all data applications and a different one for television signals. This technology allows television to become just another application running over the data network. It allows operators to eliminate dual operating and capital expense of two networks and run all services over the data network.
