Cloud Management Software Provider Dimension Data Earns Cisco Cloud Builder Designation

IT solutions and cloud management services provider Dimension Data has just achieved Cisco (News - Alert) Cloud Builder designation within the Cisco Cloud Partner Program.

Cisco awarded this designation to Dimension Data considering its competencies in selling and implementing Cisco end-to-end cloud solutions for end customers and cloud providers.

Dimension Data (News - Alert) has met the required competencies across all cloud infrastructure components, including security, networking, compute, storage and virtualization solutions, cloud management applications and a formal cloud professional services practice.

Dimension Data provides cloud infrastructure, cloud management software and services. In addition to these, the company offers comprehensive portfolio of public, private and hybrid cloud solutions, based on its globally distributed Managed Cloud Platform (MCP), a fully managed platform for the delivery of cloud services.

The MCP consists of cloud infrastructure that comprises cloud servers, storage, networking, virtualization and operating system software. It also includes CloudControl, a cloud management system that provides operational control and automation of cloud resource provisioning, orchestration, administration and billing.

Dimension Data currently has public MCPs in North America, Europe, Africa and Australia, and provides managed cloud services in more than 51 countries. The service can be accessed via a Web-based user interface or REST-based application interface (API).

It easily integrates with third party cloud or enterprise system management software.

The MCP is hosted within Dimension Data or client data center. Private MCPs can be deployed in client data centers across more than 100 countries.

"As companies increasingly embrace cloud computing to enhance their business, we realize that planning, building and managing a cloud can be very complicated," said Jim Hirt, vice president of Enterprise Services, Dimension Data Americas.

"Building upon our cloud services portfolio and global cloud platform, earning the Cisco Cloud Builder designation better positions us to help our clients with their journey to the cloud – including design, implementation, management and support," Hirt added.
