Latisys Expands Ashburn Data Center Campus

Latisys' Colocation services provide companies with the unmatched infrastructure they require to get the work done. Each data center suite is created to cater to the requirements of the most demanding IT environments. The company has created services to provide the dependability that businesses require to make sure that they have the necessary resources to operate.

Recently, the company announced the availability of DC05. According to the company, DC05 is an additional 22,000 sq. ft. of safe, ultra-high power density, carrier-grade IT infrastructure space outside of Washington, DC.

The company has stated that this Ashburn, Virginia data center campus will be the east coast hub of its national IT Infrastructure- as- a -Service (IaaS) platform. Making Latisys a suitable platform for production workloads, disaster recovery and a gateway to Asia Pacific, Europe and South America, this consists of Chicago, Denver and Irvine, CA (News - Alert). DC05 also provides 4.4 MW of new important power and also rack-based cooling which provides 40KW per cabinet.

“Washington and the mid-Atlantic region features a high concentration of large enterprises and government organizations dealing with rapidly expanding and increasingly complex IT and cloud environments," said Peter Stevenson, CEO of Latisys. "We focus on helping them make a successful transition from conventional IT to more dynamic hybrid and cloud environments that today underpin the vast majority of large organizations and likely have hidden costs.”

Recently, the company started the construction on an additional 10,000 square feet of high-density, high-security raised floor data space in Chicago. According to the company, it will soon add 1.35 megawatts of additional power to cater to the users' increasing needs for an adjustable and scalable outsourced IT platform. For the MSP's national IT Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) platform, the company's data center, based in Oak Brook, IL, serves as the Midwest hub.
