Transition Networks, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Communications Systems (News - Alert), has partnered with Amartus, a company with deep network management and OSS domain expertise, to co-develop a comprehensive Carrier Grade Service Aware (News - Alert) Management System powered by the Amartus Chameleon OS platform.
Amartus Chameleon OS is a next-generation, carrier-grade run-time programmable management platform that can help service providers to rapidly deploy and operate equipment vendor network solutions. The platform delivers all of the common service and resource management functions needed for the smooth delivery of end-to-end network services.
“CE 2.0 is representative of a broad change in the market toward more flexible and on-demand network services, and Chameleon OS enables companies like Transition Networks (News - Alert) to fast track their management system roadmap to support delivery of these services,” Michael Kearns, chief executive officer at Amartus, said in a statement.
Kearns also expressed his company’s excitement to be a part of the Converge EMS, and said Amartus is looking forward to have a long partnership with Transition Networks.
Responding to the need of service providers to rapidly deliver tailored Ethernet services to their customers, Transition Networks announced the availability of a new network management solution, Converge EMS. The Transition Networks Converge EMS is a standards-based, fully integrated service and resource manager for MEF (News - Alert) CE 2.0 services. It supports the full-service life cycle including the design, deployment and operation of end-to-end CE 2.0 services and devices.
The system delivers a comprehensive top-down, service-centric experience well beyond that offered by traditional vendor management systems.
“The launch of Converge EMS gives Transition Networks a unique competitive advantage in delivering a complete CE 2.0 solution to service providers,” said Kevin Faulds, director of Product Management at Transition Networks.
Faulds indicated that the feature set and time-to-market advantage the Chameleon OS brought to the development of Converge EMS has been critical to its successful launch.
