PrismTech Intros Spectra DTP4700 SDR Probes Toolbox

PrismTech, a specialist in standards-based, performance-critical middleware, unveiled its Probes Toolbox for its Spectra DTP4700 Software Defined Radio (SDR) development and test platform.

Andrew Foster, Spectra Product Manager, PrismTech said, “By using the Probes Toolbox when developing waveforms, real-time data may be analyzed with ease, thereby ensuring code correctness and performance optimization. This directly leads to enhanced engineering productivity and thus lower overall project cost and schedule risk.”

The Probes Toolbox will consist of real-time debugging tools, which can be leveraged to prove and excite waveform elements. This in turn lets users make part-by-part integration of waveform components and easily make independent validation of component temporal, processor and memory behaviors.

Users can visualize probe data with an internal visualizer or via the MATLAB/Simulink. Additional third-party tooling licenses for data visualization are not required.

Each of the probes has critical uses. The Data Probe can be used for monitoring or injection of real-time system flow data. The Resource Probe delivers graphical or textual representations of memory, CPU utilization and CPU resources, while enabling memory PEEKs and POKEs.

The Latency Probe can be used to get a graphical display of latency for user-defined probe points depending on a uniform system time reference. Another probe included in the toolbox is the Traffic Probe, which captures and displays network traffic.

There’s also the Software Communications Architecture (SCA) Adapter Probe, which provides latency, traffic and data probes in an SCA-compliant environment.

Recently, PrismTech announced its support for the SCA 4.0 next-generation Software Defined Radio (SDR) middleware specification, as part of its Spectra product suite.

According to officials, the SCA 4.0 is a major revision of the Software Communications Architecture standard, which is more scalable, lightweight and flexible. It’s also compatible with radio sizes ranging from small, single channel radios to prime-power, multichannel sets.

The SCA 4.0 specification includes transfer mechanisms to provide standardized client/server operations.

The probes, and other solutions provided by PrismTech, help OEM, systems integrator and end user customers build systems that are critical to the Mil/Aero, communications, industrial and financial markets.
