GFI Software Addressed the Availability of VIPRE 6.0 SDK, New Security Features for Windows Platform

There is a new anti-virus product, the so-called VIPRE 6.0, which hit the market this month; this is a software development kit (SDK) by GFI's Advanced Technology Group (News - Alert) (ATG) for threat analysis and defense. It is an easy-to-integrate anti-malware engine for Windows environments.

GFI Software’s VIPRE 6.0 SDK is an antivirus + anti-malware, firewall and Web filtering tool for Windows users. It will be compatible with the Windows 8 operating system.

The VIPRE 6.0 SDK is said to be ideal for independent software vendors (ISVs), Internet service providers (ISPs), original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), PC utility providers and other security professionals or businesses to harden their solutions for viruses.

GFI’s anti-malware technology is designed to secure networks, helps vendors strengthen their Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) platforms by adding managed antivirus into their product offerings or custom applications, protect assets and improve efficiencies, all while being affordable and easy to use.

Different from other anti-virus software, the newly introduced VIPRE 6.0 SDK for Windows is said to give software developers even stronger anti-malware integration to analyze malware without it slowing down system performance on a customer’s system.

This latest VIPRE SDK for Windows, just released, is also equipped with the VIPRE Easy Install feature, an add-on feature available for an additional fee, that allows PC utility providers to completely remove other AV programs that can potentially cause conflicts and installation problems without the need for user interaction.

If multiple antivirus scanners are desired, VIPRE 6.0 SDK is also able to support them and work in cycle with the other AV programs. If more than one anti-virus program is run, however, end-users can expect slow PC performance.  

With VIPRE 6.0, end users will have high-speed scanning capabilities; the AV software provides protection against viruses, worms, Trojans, spyware and other malicious threats.
