osProtection.org Provides Free Enterprise Log Collection Engine

osProtection.org is an analysis and log collection enterprise-level security solution that helps to replace existing paid solutions like Splunk (News - Alert). The osCollect solution from the osProtection.org is a fast-growing security development project created by industry pioneers and the open source community, to deliver free enterprise-level security solutions.

Clone Systems benefitted from the ongoing contribution of the open source developers with enterprise-level Graphical User Interfaces (GUI) that are well-designed, simple and convenient to use.

Clone Systems Inc., a pioneer in managed information security services, has initiated an open source, community-wide, software development initiative focused on information security research and development.

osCollect.org is the free enterprise-level Log Collection/Correlation management tool being developed as part of the osProtection.org initiative, which consists of three enterprise level tools:osDiscover.org, osProtect.org, and osCollect.org.

osDiscover is an open source modular web framework for discovering, analyzing and managing vulnerability threats. osProtect offers a modern interface for network security IDS/IPS management, alerting and reporting. osCollect leverages the fastest full-text indexer to collect and use "big data" to secure the enterprise. Its performance provides the basis for community-driven innovation for searching, correlating, reporting, alerting, and exporting data in a way that provides actionable, customized security intelligence.

"The first phase, osDiscover, was originally launched at the SC World Congress in NYC and received excellent feedback, so now we are all excited to introduce the final piece of the puzzle, osCollect, which will allow business users the access to enterprise-level tools to manage the ever increasing challenge of analyzing masses of logs at lightning speed," stated Clone Systems' VP of Marketing, Sally Wigham.

"The next and most exciting phase to osProtection will be the ability to correlate across the entire network via the three management tools, osDiscover, osProtect, and osCollect. This set of effective enterprise-level tools will really revolutionize the way businesses can manage the growing challenge of 'Big Data,' via free tools that have previously only been available via high ticket services, from solutions like Splunk," ccommented Clone Systems' COO, Richard Daw.
