The $5.75 million in funding will allow the company to serve its customers in North America, Europe, Africa and Asia. The company sells its flagship product, OneMediaHub, to these customers, which allows them to sync and share their digital content in various devices such as mobile phones, tablets and computers via the cloud.
OneMediaHub allows users to automatically safeguard valued pictures, videos, documents and PIM data (contacts, calendar, tasks and notes) on smartphones, tablets and computers in their personal cloud account. This data will be available if customers lose or break a device or get a new one.
OneMediaHub supports various brands and types of devices, allowing users to keep all of their digital content in one place.
To allow access without wasting bandwidth, storage or battery, while providing the ability to download full content locally, OneMediaHub also syncs previews of media and files across devices.
“Major global mobile providers are seeking a white-label personal cloud solution, and we are delighted to work with them to grow their customer acquisition and retention capabilities," said Amit Chawla (News - Alert), Funambol CEO. "Our new financing is validation of this surging market demand. It will enable us to accelerate our role as the leader of white-label personal cloud solutions.”
Recently, the company announced that its new OneMediaHub app for iOS was available for use. Apart from pictures, videos and contacts, OneMediaHub for iOS also supports documents and calendars. OneMediaHub works with the widest range of mobile devices, including iOS, Android, BlackBerry (News - Alert), Symbian, Windows PCs, Macs and feature phones.
Enabling users to easily safeguard and access important content across multiple brands of devices, it allows mobile providers to install their own branded personal cloud service.
