TCS' Firebird Plus Launch Strengthens Ties with Oracle

A Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) collaboration with Oracle (News - Alert) that began in 1987 has come to fruition, with TCS reinforcing its ties with Oracle by launching Firebird Plus, a new rapid implementation offering for Oracle Fusion Human Capital Management (HCM).

The launch of Firebird Plus, regarded as a significant milestone, will allow TCS' customers to proactively manage HR operations without having to remove their focus on strategic business initiatives, and streamline HR functions to realize greater ROI, said officials.

In addition to being able to move from a transaction- to process-based approach, Firebird Plus will reportedly allow customers to add on optional services to Oracle Fusion HM according to their requirements, and build on their investment in Enterprise Resource Planning.

Having become one of the few global consultancies to have achieved Diamond level status in Oracle Partner Network, TCS' customers are now assured of access to the full suite of Oracle solutions and new products as soon as they come to market, noted company officials.

 "We look forward to continuing to collaborate with TCS as our clients enter the next phase of human capital management innovation through Oracle Fusion HCM applications," said Gretchen Alarcon, vice president, HCM strategy at Oracle.

As a result of working closely with Oracle in support of the new product, TCS is believed to have attained the ability to successfully implement Oracle Fusion HCM and a full HR business process transformation, according to Sridhar Bakshi, global head, Oracle Enterprise Solutions.Tata Consultancy (News - Alert) Services, popularly known as TCS and one of India’s largest IT solutions and software consulting services firm, recently acquired 100 percent equity of Computational Research Laboratories for $34 million.
