Adobe Introduces Acrobat XI with New Cloud Services

Helping users to solve today’s complicated document problems, Adobe (News - Alert) has introduced Adobe Acrobat XI software with cloud services.

One of the new features of Adobe Acrobat XI is that it allows electronic signatures. With the help of Adobe EchoSign electronic signature service, the time taken for document and Web contract approvals will be reduced from months to weeks, and to annotate and add comments, they can work with PDF files across tablets and smartphones in touch-friendly Adobe Reader.

“More and more information is being generated, shared and consumed in documents than ever before,” said Kevin M. Lynch, SVP and GM of Acrobat and Document Services, Adobe. “Working with online forms, collaborative PDF reviews and signatures are the everyday norm for business professionals who were once simply content creators. IT departments need to support these changes, as well as provide support and services that enable their organizations to take advantage of new business opportunities.”

Adobe Acrobat XI is packed with tools to assist users in making their job easier every day. Individuals can explore eight ways to make use of Acrobat XI for the benefit of their projects from start to finish. It allows users to edit PDF files and make changes to paragraphs, images and objects, and simply click and drag with the help of the new, intuitive Edit Text and Images tool.

While preserving source file integrity, they can also arrange and visually merge select content and multiple documents into one organized PDF file.

In 2011, RPost (News - Alert) filed a case against Adobe for patent infringement that was connected with electronic signature services from EchoSign – which Adobe acquired on July 18, 2011. According to RPost, the electronic signature services depends on RPost patented technology. RPost filed the case for infringement of five of its U.S. patents.

In addition, RPost is asking a federal court to issue an injunction against Adobe.
