Webtrends and Axceler Team Up to Create Share Point Specific User-Management, Measurement Solution

Renowned digital marketing firm, Webtrends, has reportedly forged a strategic alliance with the collaboration governance expert, Axceler.

The two companies – both Microsoft (News - Alert) Gold Certified Partners – will work together to provide a comprehensive user-management and measurement solution for SharePoint, according to a recent statement.

The joint solution will combine Webtrends’ analytics expertise and Axceler’s (News - Alert) collaboration governance expertise. While Webtrends for SharePoint will provide in-depth analytics functionality for measuring users and engagement, Axceler's ControlPoint feature will enable administrators to efficiently establish rules, protocol and policies as well as control access and usage of SharePoint solutions.

The joint SharePoint-specific solution will give enterprise organizations the tools to improve usage and increase business productivity, while providing IT assurance and enabling security and compliance.

When combined, Webtrends and Axceler solution will give the organizations the ability to measure content and collaboration by employee, department, geography, organizational hierarchy, team site or project site.

It will help administrators to identify, understand and amplify trends that drive adoption to improve business productivity and innovation.

The solution will also help control infrastructure sprawl by enabling administrators to understand site usage patterns such as identifying lesser-used sites that can be eliminated, popular access points and how different geographic territories within organizations utilize SharePoint.

Using the solution, the administrators will be able to establish rules, protocol and policies to control usage of SharePoint according to organizational guidelines. Individuals can also gain in-depth knowledge of how employees and departments use and complete corporate training material, download corporate policies or access compliance programs.

Webtrends' and Axceler's solutions are expected to increase visibility and control of the SharePoint platform by automating SharePoint governance with the ability to establish rules, protocol and policies. The solution is also expected to boost security to deter information theft, protect brand from unauthorized access, as well as reduce risk by controlling access to intellectual property.
