OKI (News - Alert) Europe, a division of OKI Data Corporation, recently introduced a new range of digital LED A4 and A3 white toner printers at the OKI Europe's Smart Business Conference in Barcelona.
The newly launched C711WT and C920WT models, highly robust and cost-effective, are ideal within a number of graphic-based markets, from t-shirt transfers and film printing to in-store point-of-sale applications.
"In the past, products have been based on inkjet, dye sublimation, or transfer film-ready technologies,” said OKI Europe product marketing manager, Paul Ingram. “These have niche applications in areas such as garment decoration or printing proofs for packaging applications, which are typically expensive both to purchase and maintain and the production time is lengthy. The new OKI white toner-based products by contrast are versatile, easy to use and, as there is no drying time required, enable much faster and more cost-effective printing.”
“At the same time, the robust solid print output is just as good as foil blocking, making it a credible in-house solution for a wide range of white print applications," he added.
The C711WT A4 printer has been designed to offer 4-color (CMY and white) printing at 8ppm in transparency mode, and 34ppm using plain paper, while the C920WT A4/A3 printer offers higher volume applications, at 10ppm and 31ppm via high-capacity toner cartridges.
Along with existing graphic arts applications, the new white toner printers will be introduced for application across a number of other key markets, including transfer media printing such as t-shirts, ceramic decorations, back light signage via transparency film and film printing used for packaging.
Designed on similar lines as the existing portfolio of OKI printers, the new white toners provide users with a wide array benefits compared to other white printing devices currently available in the market. While being robust and highly affordable, the C711WT and C920WT products can be used by large and small businesses alike, keen on expanding their in-house printing opportunities.
Both products have been designed for faster printing, are easy to use and scratch-resistant as opposed to inkjet-based devices.
