Recently, Green Hills Software announced that its MULTI toolchain has been certified to cater to the highest levels of tool qualification specified in the IEC (News - Alert) 61508:2010 (Industrial), EN 50128:2011 (Railway) and ISO 26262:2011 (Automotive) functional safety standards.
The MULTI Toolchain from Green Hills Software is designed to rapidly solve problems where the traditional tools get stuck. It often takes weeks or months to track down problems like inter-task corruptions, missed real-time requirements and external hardware events.
Green Hills' MULTI Toolchain suite helps users solve the same problems in hours – or even minutes.
With this new certification, developers can depend on Green Hills Software's safety and certification experience and make use of certified tools to create safety systems up to SIL 4 and ASIL D.
Green Hills has invested considerable time and effort to cater to the new tool qualification requirements included in the latest releases.
“Green Hills Software continues to lead the embedded software community in delivery of safety-certified products coupled with unparalleled safety expertise," commented Dan O'Dowd, founder and chief executive officer at Green Hills Software. "Our deep working knowledge of these standards, our proven design and development practices, and our collaborative engagement with the certification bodies were key to the successful certification that confirms our support tools qualification and complements our existing INTEGRITY real-time operating system certified offerings.”
Making the Green Hills MULTI IDE the only commercially available toolchain certified to secure both SIL 4 (Safety Integrity Level) and ASIL D (Automotive Safety Integrity Level) tool qualification needs, Green Hills has received certificates from both TÜV NORD and exida.
The company also recently partnered with AppliedMicro to unveil a best-of-class solution for AppliedMicro's (News - Alert) PacketPro2 family of single and multicore secure processors for enterprise networking, control plane and industrial applications. Enabling customers to select the product that matches their specific requirements, Green Hills is creating an optimizing tool chain and debugger for AppliedMicro PacketPro2 family.
