Partnerpedia Lets Organizations Set Up Their Own Private Branded App Store

Partnerpedia provides organizations with their own private branded app store – after just a few hours of setup.

Specifically, it provides mobile app management and marketplace solutions to IT customers, original equipment manufacturers, and vendors under private label.

The company also provides a catalogue of pre-vetted business applications.  Any IT manager can select from these, or, can upload in-house apps or elements.

There is a free trial and a company can create an app store branded with the company logo.

That means a company can let its employees, customers or partners have access to its own branded app store.

Since 1996, Partnerpedia has worked with Microsoft (News - Alert), Research In Motion, Alcatel-Lucent, and other companies. But not all of them are large.

“This app store is for any company that’s more than 100 employees or greater,” Mark Sochan, CEO of Partnerpedia, told TMC CEO Rich Tehrani (News - Alert), in a recent interview.

The user will find the app store easy to use in part because the system recognizes what kind of device the person is using when visiting the app store. The apps shown to them relate to that device. So they may be of a certain operating system, for example. The company will also find it easy to set up an app store under their brand because it’s a self-service site.

The apps are not purchased individually. Companies instead pre-purchase licenses.

Founded in 1994, Partnerpedia originally focused on custom Web application development. The company refocused in 2010 on its Web app platform. Its new direction comes as a result of the increasing use of mobile devices. Now, enterprise app stores are needed.

Companies can offer a single place for employees and others to find apps. Reviews and ratings of specific apps are offered, as well. Getting the right app can lead to increased productivity among employees, according to a report from TMCnet.
