Good news for Dialogic (News - Alert), as The Tolly Group has awarded its performance certification to the Dialogic PowerMedia Extended Media Server (XMS). Having met or exceeded The Tolly Group’s (News - Alert) criteria for media server density, call processing, host CPU and memory utilization, voice quality, and media latency, PowerMedia XMS was deemed worthy of its recognition and certification.
The Tolly Group is a provider of third-party validation services for vendors of IT products, components, and services. It tested and measured the PowerMedia XMS, keeping track of media server performance across call rates, latency, and audio quality, and found the results satisfactory.
PowerMedia XMS is made to reduce the cost of deployment and operations, running on scalable common datacenter server infrastructure. It provides industry standard interfaces and protocols for media and call control, and can be used with third-party SIP application servers in both public and private IP communications networks.
According to Kevin Gould, senior VP of operations and Dialogic, “While initial demand for PowerMedia XMS has been centered on the strength of its video processing, HD voice capabilities and video conferencing support, its support for high density audio conferencing is now clearly validated by the performance test results published by the Tolly Group, and recognized by conference solution developers and service providers that require more competitive architectures.”
This bodes well for Dialogic, and reflects well on the PowerMedia XMS, with version 1.1 available for download and licensing as of last month. The Tolly Group is a trusted source for certification and validation, so if PowerMedia XMS meets their standards, it might meet yours too.
