NTT Europe Implementing Sepaton Backup Solution to Support Its Exponential Growth throughout Europe

In an effort to ensure reliable access to a massive volume of business critical data for its rapidly expanding customer base, NTT (News - Alert) Europe, the international arm of leading global communications and ICT solutions provider NTT Communications, has reportedly implemented the Sepaton S2100-ES2 data protection platform.

NTT Europe is currently expanding its footprint throughout Europe and has been on the lookout for high performance solution that would enable it to restore its customers’ data rapidly; back up growing data volumes to safety within tight timeframes; and cut capacity costs through data de-duplication. The company backs up more than 200 TB of customer data nightly - a volume expected to increase exponentially as the company pursues its plan to expand throughout Europe.

The company was on the lookout for a storage solution that would enable it to drive down costs, while also providing the enormous scalability of performance and capacity required to handle this massive growth without jeopardizing its Service Level Agreements with its customers.

After evaluating an array of backup solutions, NTT Europe determined that the Sepaton S2100 best met their requirements, according to a press release. In addition of delivering the fastest performance in the industry, the solution is expected to enable NTT Europe to deliver reliable, high quality service to its customers regardless of how quickly or how large the company grows. According to NTT Europe’s calculations, Sepaton S2100 came out to be the most cost-efficient data protection solution to meet their needs.

“We did not want the costly sprawl that would result if we had to add a new single-node system every time we need more performance or capacity in our fast-growing organization. Sepaton’s unique DeltaScale architecture enabled us to buy a system that meets today’s needs and to simply add performance or capacity as our needs grow over time.” senior product manager for NTT Europe, Adam Lembariti explained in a statement.

“Sepaton not only delivers the fastest performance in the industry, its performance is reliable, predictable, and guaranteed – giving us the ability to meet our customers’ expectations for service with confidence. That’s a competitive advantage for us,” Lembariti added.

Sepaton deployment is scheduled to be completed in six-to-eight months, rolling out initially at the company’s London site, and then followed by Germany, Spain and France.

Last month at VMworld 2012, NTT America (News - Alert) announced it has extended its RaaS portfolio with the addition of Cloud Recovery, an enterprise-grade, cloud-based replication solution that meets the strict requirements of enterprises seeking to ensure business continuity for their mission-critical applications in the event of planned or unplanned outages.
