Interra Systems Unveils New Vega HEVC

High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) is the current joint video coding standardization project of ISO/IEC (News - Alert) Moving Picture Experts Group and ITU-T Video Coding Experts Group. A joint collaborative team on video coding is established to continue work on this project.

Recently, Interra (News - Alert) Systems, a global provider of Media Quality and Compliance products, unveiled Vega HEVC Analyzer, the latest addition to the Vega Media Analyzer platform.

Offering complicated HEVC information in simple visuals, which make analysis of the coded information easy, intuitive, and comprehensive, Interra’s Vega HEVC is a file-based media analyzer. Apart from powerful reporting, error messages at all structural levels, and high-performance analysis, Vega HEVC features include complete parsing and decoding, frame by frame navigation, analytical graphs, H.264 and HEVC encoding comparison, the company stated in a press release.

“Video compression codecs are complex, and HEVC is a particularly complex codec. As a forerunner in compression analysis technology, Interra Systems has always offered the first and the best solution for video codec analysis. In sync with media market's expectation from HEVC, Vega HEVC Analyzer enables markets involved in creating and distributing HEVC video to adopt a powerful debug environment to deliver standards compliant HEVC products and services,” said Anupama Anantharaman, director of business development & marketing at Interra Systems.

Recently, the company announced the integration of the Interra Baton file-based quality check (QC) solution with the recently introduced Envivio (News - Alert) Muse On-Demand 3.50 and 4Balancer software. Facilitating service expansion and the monetization of VOD on any screen, this integration assists to ensure high quality VOD asset creation in the right formats for various playout devices in today's multi-screen environment.
