KODAK Unveils Info Activate Solution

Whether a user uses Microsoft (News - Alert) SharePoint or another collaboration platform, there are possibilities that his/her biggest challenge will be to get important data off paper and into their business process workflow.

Recently, KODAK released its Info Activate Solution, a new distributed enterprise capture system. According to the company, this new solution provides a simple user interface that lets knowledge workers to simultaneously digitize paper documents and initiate a business process with a single click.

Helping to increase the efficiency of workflows, simplify metadata entry, and decrease processing expenses, the new solution offers companies with the ability to manage paper documents with the speed and power of digital content. Info Activate Solution is less complicated than conventional capture and enterprise content management (ECM) systems.

Created with the help of Microsoft SharePoint 2010 as the development platform, Info Activate Solution lets businesses to make use of their existing investment in SharePoint as an application. With Info Activate Solution, companies can make full use of SharePoint technologies including thin-client operation, content libraries, business connectivity services, dashboards and third-party add-on technologies and modules, the company stated in a press release.

“Info Activate Solution represents a significant milestone in Kodak’s (News - Alert) expanding software portfolio,” said Tony Barbeau, Kodak’s general manager for document imaging. “Its scalable framework will enable IT administrators and software developers to more easily design, deploy, and maintain an enterprise-wide capture system to support workforce collaboration.”

Recently, the company revealed that it has formed a strategic partnership with NovaCopy to assist companies upload documents to Microsoft Office 365, a cloud-based collaboration and productivity platform. Quickly converting forms, invoices, patient records and other critical business documents into high-quality images, Novacopy Connect 365 Software releases captured images and metadata from Kodak's platform that includes Kodak Capture Pro Software.
