Lenovo Expands IdeaTab Tablet Line with Three New Devices

Amidst the flurry of ultra-definition televisions, Windows 8 tablets and Android (News - Alert) phones at IFA in Berlin, Chinese tech company Lenovo has announced three new Android tablets — the IdeaTab A2107, A2109 and S2110 — fleshing out the IdeaTab family to more than just the S2109 that was released earlier this year. All three tablets will be running Android 4.0 at launch.

The A2107 is the smallest of the bunch, featuring a seven-inch screen, an MTK Cortex A9 processor and up to 16GB of internal storage. The A2107 stands out amongst competitors like Google's (News - Alert) Nexus 7 and the Amazon Kindle Fire with a built-in roll cage for added durability, microSD expandable storage and a built-in FM radio tuner. Not much else was said about the A2107, so details like pricing and screen resolution aren't available as of now.

Lenovo (News - Alert) was more candid about the A2109, however, which sports a nine-inch display with a 1280 x 800 resolution, a 1.2-GHz quad-core Tegra 3 processor and 16GB of internal storage. Other features include an aluminum body, a micro HDMI output as well as front and rear-facing cameras. Pricing for the A2109 starts at $299, a bargain compared to other tablets in this size range.

Lastly, the S2110 features a 10.1-inch IPS display with a 1280 x 800 resolution and 420 bits of brightness. This device also boasts a dual-core 1.5-GHz Qualcomm (News - Alert) 8060A processor, up to 32GB of storage and an optional keyboard dock reminiscent of the Asus Transformer line of tablets, which features not only a keyboard but a touchpad, full-sized USB ports an SD card reader and extended battery life. Pricing for the S2110 starts at $399 stand alone, or $499 with the keyboard dock.

"The newest line of Ideatab products provides an option for everyone who wants to keep all of their favorite books, songs and movies at their fingertips, no matter where they go," said Liu Jun, senior vice president and president of the Mobile Internet and Digital Home business for Lenovo, in a release. "Whether consumers crave a pocket tablet with 3G connectivity or seek a premium entertainment tablet for games and graphics, Lenovo has it, and at every price point."
