RagingWire Launches New Data Center in Ashburn

RagingWire has opened a new 150,000 square foot data center in Ashburn, Virginia and Governor Bob McDonnell declared it open at an official ribbon cutting ceremony.

At the ceremony, Gov. McDonnell welcomed RagingWire to Virginia’s high tech community and appreciated the investments the company has made in the Commonwealth and its efforts to drive business and economic development.

The Commonwealth of Virginia’s Secretary of Technology Jim Duffey, Assistant Secretary of Commerce & Trade Jimmy Rhee, Delegate Tom Rust, State Senator Mark Herring and Virginia Economic Development Partnership President and CEO, Martin Briley were present at the launch event.

“RagingWire is grateful for the support of the Virginia business and government community and Loudoun County as we grow our company from coast to coast. We are committed to attracting Fortune 1000 enterprises, the top .com web businesses, and innovators from cloud computing to software-as-a-service (SaaS (News - Alert)) to leverage our 100 percent available data center in Virginia,” commented George Macricostas, chairman, CEO and founder of RagingWire, in a statement.

RagingWire’s newest data center facility in Ashburn, Virginia is claimed to be one of the world’s busiest telecommunications hubs. It features one of the most innovative data center architectures in the industry and patented RagingWire technology, all backed by a 100 percent uptime SLA and an around the clock staff of highly trained professionals that will take care of users’ critical IT infrastructure so they can focus on their IT applications.

The facility features 2N+2 redundancy in its critical facilities infrastructure all the way to the customer's rack and 21 megawatts of highly available facility power. The data center is carrier neutral along with multiple, diverse connectivity options available to users.

RagingWire added that Loudoun County, which was instrumental in its decision to build the new data center in Ashburn, provided significant support to the launch event.
