By Mini SwamyChina Computerworld (CCW) has honored Mellanox (News - Alert) Technologies with the “2012 Innovative Solution for IT Service Award.” The company's end-to-end InfiniBand solution was considered the best interconnect solution for China's energy industry.
This interconnect solution provides companies in the energy industry with the highest performance and scalability, the best price, performance and power for maximizing server and storage data processing capabilities, and full integration with legacy systems, according to company officials.
“CCW’s recognition of Mellanox as the top interconnect solution for the energy industry validates continued demand for the performance, efficiency and return-on-investment that our offerings provide,” said David Barzilai, vice president of marketing at Mellanox.
Mellanox interconnect solutions provide highest throughput and lowest latency, delivering data faster to applications and unlocking system performance capability, increasing data center efficiency. With its interconnect products, application runtime is accelerated and business results maximized for a wide range of markets.
More than 260 entries were received for this year’s awards. The entries were evaluated on the basis of innovation, effectiveness and influence of the solution. Mellanox won the award on the basis of the combined scores that it received for the different criteria.
“An increasing number of industrial users are concerned about the effectiveness of IT services, innovative applications, and want to learn about advanced IT technologies,” said Chang Guo, vice president at China Computerworld Research.
CCW Research was created by the Chinese government to provide research and analysis for the country's IT industry. The Awards program is an annual event that is conducted to identify and recommend the best solutions for a wide range of Chinese markets.
A company statement made specific mention of Mellanox’s end-to-end Virtual Protocol Interconnect, data center interconnect solutions – based on InfiniBand and 10/40 Gigabit Ethernet – as an example of how higher performance could be achieved without complexity at reduced data center cost.
Mellanox Technologies’ RDMA technology for InfiniBand and Ethernet is supported in the Windows Server "8" Beta release. Users can leverage Windows Server "8" Beta and Mellanox's RDMA-based InfiniBand and Ethernet interconnects to quickly complete jobs.
