Rovio, Intel, and Jumptap Come Together to Launch Angry Birds Experience on Facebook

Angry Birds has an exceptional following in mobile as well as social channels. In order to extend the offering, Rovio, the maker of Angry Birds; Intel (News - Alert) Corporation, and Jumptap, specializing in targeted mobile advertising, have collaborated to introduce the first ever fully-branded total Angry Birds experience on Facebook (News - Alert). Jumptap will be responsible for offering cross-platform integration.

Fans can access the game via the Intel and Angry Birds Facebook pages. An Intel-blue circuit board serves as background to the game. Fans are transported into the Intel-branded Angry Birds world, including a new blue-and-yellow slingshot, Intel Core chips and mini circuit boards. The player can even challenge their friends by sharing their scoreboards on Facebook.

In a press release, David Veneski, Intel's U.S. Media Director, said, “Angry Birds has an exceptional following both in its mobile and social channels. In 2012, we're focused on building out the Ultrabook category and targeting an audience that is younger than we've marketed to in the past. With entertainment as the foundation of our advertising activities we feel that a multi-platform integration with Rovio and Angry Birds, including the first fully branded Facebook activation, is an excellent way to expose this new audience to Intel and the Ultrabook in a fun and engaging manner.”

Jumptap has created the rich media ad units and landing pages by utilizing its unique targeting technology and broad understanding of mobile audiences. The company has built and delivered 50 million mobile impressions to create awareness of the new game, and is now at work on future phases of the promotion.

George Bell, CEO of Jumptap, said, “We're thrilled to offer Angry Birds fans a way to interact with the Intel brand through a cross-platform experience. The partnership combines social and mobile in an innovative way, allowing fans to enjoy a game experience across multiple screens.”

Jumptap was recently assigned a patent (8,229,914) developed by four co-inventors for a “mobile content spidering and compatibility determination.”
