Castle Worldwide uses SAS (News - Alert) Analytics (Statistical Analysis System) with all of its not-for-profit associations and businesses to help ensure its meeting the proper channels for legal proof and accuracy for standardized tests. SAS Analytics is an integrated system of software products provided by SAS Institute to help companies perform intense analysis and research.
More specifically, SAS Analytics specializes in retrieval, data management, data mining, report writing, statistical analysis, business forecasting, business planning, operations research, product management, and even quality improvement. In addition, SAS has many business solutions that enable large-scale software solutions for various management systems.
Andrew C. Dwyer, PhD, senior psychometrician at Castle Worldwide, admitted that the company was having problems and needed to find a solution. “Before SAS, our analytics process was more operationally fragmented,” said Dwyer. “Pulling data from our databases, cleaning and restructuring it, analyzing it, and creating presentable reports were accomplished using multiple software programs, and it was a source of inefficiency for us. In addition, detailed documentation of our statistical processes, a legal imperative for us, was time consuming – and time is money.”
Dwyer said Castle Worldwide has already implemented a new SAS system and is happy with the results. “Now, SAS documents our workflow so we can more quickly replicate the process. That supports our excellent reputation in pschometrics and test delivery while providing us time and money-saving efficiencies,” said Dwyer.
In a press release, Castle Worldwide said it uses SAS to “collect and analyze test information, improve the measurement fidelity of tests, and demonstrate the validity and reliability of examinations.” Adding that the software has helped Castle streamline its procedures making sure the company is able to determine who is qualified and unqualified to perform certain medical procedures.
Vice president for client services at Castle, Robert Pedigo, said he found the all-in-one solution his company so desperately needed. “SAS for Small and Midsize Business includes everything from analytical capabilities for innovating to highly visual reports that our clients expect. SAS helps us speed the best possible test development and analysis to our clients.”
