New Relic Adds Free App Speed Index to its SaaS APM Solution

New Relic, a Web App management founded in 2008, has created a new and free application speed index to its SaaS (News - Alert) application performance management (APM).

The App Speed Index is to provide insight for the customer as it collects over 55 billion performance metrics, monitors 1.5 billion page loads for 25,000 customers with 500,000 applications.

“Thanks to our SaaS model, our customers have immediate access to these new features by just logging into their New Relic account,” said a New Relic official. “When you login today, I think you’re going to be blown away by both of these features.”

Lew Cirne, founder and CEO at New Relic, indicated that application speed and performance is a huge factor in the buying decision of a potential customer. Because of New Relic, data collection and their new app speed index capability, they can give some valuable insight to customers in order to measure speed and performance.

Because of such an application, New Relic is doing better than simple industry benchmarking, which is helping companies to compare with their peers. But this is only partially reliable, as it is driven by synthetic transaction.

“Industry benchmarking is critical for helping companies understand how they compare with their peers,” Jonah Kowall, analyst at Gartner (News - Alert) Inc., said about benchmarking. “However, benchmarking reports are typically driven by synthetic transactions, which can assume connectivity that is often uncertain in today's mobile workforce.  Newer approaches to application performance monitoring delivered as a service (APMaaS) can inject real user data into benchmarks adding valuable data for decision makers.”

New Relic indicates that there is no need for any upgrade, patch or reboots in order to log in to new features. Users will simply have to opt-in to Seep Index Application.

Software Engineer and developer, Brent Miller, gives more details about the App Seed Index speed, and overall leverage and functions in this article.

New Relic’s free app speed SaaS APM (News - Alert) solution is gravitating to an improved performance for the end user and for themselves as well.
