Handygo Launches IVR Services in 18 Different Languages

Handygo, India’s leading provider of software and system enabling mobile value added services for video, messaging and interactive voice response, announced that its interactive voice response service, Behtar Zindagi, has touched a new milestone.

This commendable rural sector scheme on IVR has just crossed .6 million customer bases.

Behtar Zindagi was launched in 2009 as a unique IVR- based solution, focused on strengthening the rural population with authentic and quality information regarding diverse information which directly or indirectly impacts the lifestyle and livelihood of rural users.

The service was meant to address the shortage of accessible information on agricultural advisory, market rates and weather scenario.

Launched in regional IVR, with SMS and Voice SMS support, the IVR solution provides information on market prices, agricultural and cropping advisory, livestock advisory, weather, finance, education, women and child healthcare.

The service also offers a location-based service in order to provide accurate information to people in specific areas. In the last three years, the firm received 10 million queries.

Currently, the solution is available in 18 different languages. The company plans to launch same service in GPRS application as well, COO Dipanker Mukherjee said in a press release.

As part of this program, subscribers are sensitized on the usage, scope and benefits of using the service for enhancement of their yield and production.

The services that received maximum queries/subscription and support from the region were related to Agricultural Advisory, fisheries, animal husbandry, agromet advisory, etc., which could be the result of the penetration of mobile services across Andhra Pradesh and the user’s ability to leverage the benefits of this reach for their and public good.
