Wireless Solutions Can Be a Challenge, But the Benefits are Huge

Wilocity is headquartered in Israel and was founded in 2007 by ex-Intel (News - Alert) people. The company is extremely excited about its recently launched wireless chipsets, 60GHZ wireless solutions that boast a chip on one side and a radio on other side that goes into a laptop.

Touted as a tri-band wireless solution that encompasses regular Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and the first ever 60GHZ wireless solution on the market, the extremely innovation solution can deliver to 4.6 gigabites per second and can power direct iO communications, according to Mark Grodzinky, vice president of Marketing at Wilocity.

The offering essentially reduces the physical space taken up by appliances but delivers a much more powerful computer to users.

Said Grodzinksy: “The consumer electronics, handsets and PC industries all are working on a 60-gigbit solution, but we are first. Ultimately, the goal is to build good product and a company that is sustainable.

Beginning to ship this offering by the end of the year, responses thus far have been very positive despite the fact that this technology is brand new which can cause some obstacles to arise.

“Trying to get anyone to integrate a new wireless technology is challenging,” he added. “And being the first company with a new wireless technology forces you to clear the hurdles and a lot of misconceptions. What is helping us to spread the word about our product is the fact that it delivers value from day one. It also vital to get the industry involved and take a leadership position.”

Within the next year, the company will be actively manufacturing and getting its product out there, as well as releasing a second-generation product that has been developed for tablets that is much smaller and requires a reduced amount of power.
