QualiSystems Continues to Make Mark on Test Automation Space

Formed in 2004 and opened initially in Israel before moving to Santa Clara, Calif., QualiSystems (News - Alert) is an enterprise software provider that focuses on the networking and service provider space. The company also helps companies reduce Capex and Opex within the lab and test automation space.

With its target market being both the networking space as well as telecommunications service providers, the startup company’s software is very flexible and boasts an open framework that is universal to many companies.

Recently unveiling version 4.8 of its software, this solution is extremely easy to use and supports IPV6. It is a test shell that is specifically tailored to be leveraged for lab management and test automation.

Michael Yeager, vice president of Sales, North America, revealed that a growing trend he is seeing in the networking space is a Lab-as-a- Service offering, where companies, who are looking to test equipment but can’t keep throwing systems into test lab due to cost constraints, can do a much better job of utilizing these services and consolidating them. Also, many companies these days are going green and by teaming with QualiSystems, organizations can automate power up and power down and keep up with their workloads much easier.

It used to that everyone had their own equipment in their own labs, even if they were using only 10 percent. “The new trend is to consolidate to be much more efficient in the sharing of equipment in a central location with remote access. Virtualization of data centers is also key and being able to test that environment and help control that is vital,” Yeager said.

In this space, the company is seeing tremendous growth in service provider and telcos. The benefits from automating the testing process include reducing operating expenses and increasing workload as far as offering many more testing resources which allows users to do a lot more with less time, thus increasing time to market.

He added, “In our space, we take everything into account from the end user device into the overall networking infrastructure. Customers think our solutions are awesome and this is a completely new space where people are moving to automation because they are being forced to. Where before they could do with what they had, now they can’t keep up. When they finally see how easy it to use our offering, they are very happy.”

QualiSystems differentiates itself from competitors in the lab management side and test automatic space due to the fact that they bring both together and no programming expertise is required to be up and running in a short period of time.
