GE Aviation Recognizes its GP7200 Engine Program Supplier Hamilton Sundstrand for Customer Service Excellence

GE Aviation, a producer of large and small jet engines for commercial and military aircrafts, recently recognized Hamilton Sundstrand for its outstanding customer service on GP7200 engine program.

Hamilton Sundstrand specializes in the manufacturing and supporting of aerospace and industrial products for worldwide markets. The company was formed out of the merger of Hamilton Standard and Sundstrand Corporation in 1999. A subsidiary of United Technologies Corporation, HS is headquartered in Windsor Locks, Connecticut. The company designs, manufactures and services aerospace systems and provides integrated system solutions for commercial, regional, corporate and military aircraft. It also is a major supplier for international space programs.

Hamilton Sundstrand was one of the suppliers for GE’s Engine Alliance GP7200 engine program- a 50-50 joint venture between Pratt & Whitney and GE Aviation. GP7200 engine is the market-leading, most fuel-efficient engine powering the Airbus A380.

As a supplier to GE on the program, Hamilton Sundstrand provided GE with the GP7200 Main Fuel Pump and Fuel Manifold.

From delivering exceptional customer support to address the engineering issues to ease up the spare parts planning process, Hamilton’s customer care team delivered outstanding support for all aspects of the project, GE said in a press release. It comes as no surprise that Hamilton Sundstrand’s Customer Service team received an overall score of 6.3 on a Likert scale of seven on GE’s annual customer satisfaction survey, which translates to UTC ACE Gold performance.

“Hamilton Sundstrand has a strong partnership with GE Aviation and the Engine Alliance on the GP7200 engine program and we are thrilled to receive this recognition,” Hamilton Sundstrand Customer Service vice president and general manager, Jim Patrick, noted in a statement.

In other news Hamilton Sundstrand, who works as a system supplier to the Boeing (News - Alert) 787 Dreamliner, said that it has ramped up its operations and its supply chain to support Boeing's rate readiness needs for 787 production.
