Actuate and KXEN Collaborate to Offer Big Data Predictive Analysis

KXEN, a provider of solutions for predictive analysis, and Actuate (News - Alert) Corporation, an open source business intelligence (BI) vendor, announced that they have entered into a partnership to make it easy for companies to optimize processes by installing predictive analytics on petabytes of big data.

The partnership intends to combine the features and capabilities of Actuate’s ActuateOne and KXEN’s InfiniteInsight in order to facilitate rapid development of information applications that can be used for deep-dive analysis and realizing effective and collaborative decision making.

Actuate delivers the ActuateOne, a suite of standard and cloud software based on BIRT, an open source Eclipse project. The suite enables native access to big data for analysis, dashboards, reporting and interactive visualization. Actuate explained that ActuateOne is recognition of a single common architecture for development and deployment, utilizing one design, one server and a seamless unified end-user experience that meets the dynamically changing needs of information consumers and it is loaded with specifically designed features that should assist in the rapid development and deployment of custom BI apps and rich information apps that leverage BIRT.

KXEN asserted that with its InfiniteInsight users can build predictive models to gain unprecedented insight into their customers – from acquisition through cross-sell, up-sell, churn prevention, and generally taking the next best action with every interaction, across every customer channel. The solution’s modeling automation approach is stated to be ideal for big data where data sets often involve thousands of variables of machine generated data that traditional approaches cannot handle.

Actuate stated that it is pleased to partner with KXEN for delivering complementary analytics functionality to its customers, while KXEN expects the alliance to increase the value of both the KXEN and Actuate product families. The partnership is stated to have already set some exciting projects in motion.
