Ulticom's Upgraded Diameter Signaling Controller Offers Policy and Charging System Support

Ulticom (News - Alert) recently announced that its Diameter Signaling Controller (DSC) has been upgraded to provide advanced 3GPP Diameter Routing Agent (DRA) functionality. The new upgrade also features robust extensions to Diameter Routing Rules and has been designed with advanced load balancing capabilities to support efficient management of server load.

Ulticom’s DSC can address specific problems typical to Diameter Signaling Network in wake of expanding mobile broadband usage.

The Ulticom DSC product comes with robust 3GPP Diameter Routing Agent (DRA) functionality and is capable of supporting extensive routing and configuration management which means service capacity adjustments based on specific operational factors become easier.

Designed to support load balancing, the Ulticom DCS offers greater scalability for Diameter-based service applications including Online and Offline Charging (OCS/OFCS) and Home Subscriber Servers (HSS). The Ulticom DSC product also enables easier management of resources to address changes.

Diameter Signaling Network is seeing widespread usage which means there is a greater need for flexibility. The Ulticom DSC product has been designed to enable deployment of scripts which allow greater evaluation and appropriate modifications in addition to enabling routing of traffic based upon content.

For Telecom Equipment Manufacturers and Mobile Network Operators, the Ulticom DSC product is an ideal turnkey Linux-based software solution which allows easy integration with both new and existing Policy and Charging systems.
