Apica's AMI for Apica ProxySniffer Brings Mega Load Testing to Users of Amazon Web Services

Apica recently announced the introduction of its AMI for Apica ProxySniffer. The newly released Apica ProxySniffer EC2 AMI has been designed to offer mega load testing capabilities to users of Amazon Web Services (News - Alert). The company is a provider of advanced solutions for optimizing the performance of cloud and mobile applications.

Based on the Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) of Amazon, the Apica ProxySniffer AMI makes it easy for users of Amazon to quickly rent out extra load generators for 2,000, 5,000 and or 10,000 virtual users at one time on an hourly basis via their AWS credentials.

The Apica ProxySniffer AMI combines 100 load generator AMIs in a cluster to achieve a load of approximately one million virtual users provided for mega testing applications.

In a release, Sven Hammar, CEO of Apica, said that, “Apica ProxySniffer gives our customers the ability to create and set up their own load tests according to their individual needs. Our global test platform allows for comprehensive performance management and capacity planning. Pairing those capabilities with the elasticity and scalability of the AWS Cloud will generate test volumes capable of validating scaling and failover for the most demanding cloud applications and SaaS (News - Alert) providers.”

Available instantly, the Apica ProxySniffer EC2 AMI can be set up to run within minutes from the Apica ProxySniffer GUI. Usage is not subjected to minimum subscription while hourly costs can be billed directly to the AWS accounts. Furthermore, by using the free ProxySniffer tool from Apica, load testing scripts can be easily recorded.

Users of Amazon Web Services can create and carry out a mega load test to validate application performance as well as its reliability and scalability all within ten minutes.
