Nimbus Data Systems, Inc. Reaches Deal with The Allant Group

Nimbus Data Systems, Inc., a company best know for work in sustainable storage and Flash-based memory products, announced they have been chosen by The Allant Group as a provider of memory needs. The company has selected the Nimbus S-Class flash memory platform for the business needs of its business center. The company is reported to have chosen this system because it has 10 times greater transaction performance then other options in the 150-spindle disk array market. As a matter of fact, The Allant Group seemed to be fairly impressed with the features provided by the model and how it might be able to solve bottleneck problems for the company.

"The introduction of Nimbus S-Class dramatically improved our Oracle (News - Alert) database performance and eliminated tedious workarounds that previously consumed a significant amount of valuable DBA time and energy,” said Dan Otterness, of the Enterprise Infrastructure Architect section of The Allant Group. “Most impressive is watching the affordable, compact and easy-to-use Nimbus system outgunning our vastly larger and energy hungry 15K disk array by 10 times. We view Nimbus' flash technology as a significant enhancement to the success of our Oracle environment and see this as disruptive technology for such transactional workloads."

And, of course, the folks over at Nimbus are excited about the deal. Thomas Isakovich, the CEO of Nimbus Data Systems, said, "We are delighted to support The Allant Group's next-generation Oracle infrastructure. DBA's have long struggled with disk arrays, going through all sorts of configuration complexity in hopes of reducing latency by a millisecond or two. As this win demonstrates, organizations that deploy Nimbus flash memory systems can eliminate decades of disk array tuning challenges and supercharge database performance, increasing revenue opportunities and improving quality of service."
